Bladder Cancer Awareness Month
May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month and Everest House Surgery are keen to raise awareness. Look out for our display in the Surgery Reception area.
Every year in the UK over 21,000 are diagnosed with bladder cancer making it the 5th most common cancer in Europe. If diagnosed early enough over 80% of those diagnosed will survive.
What to look for:
- Blood in your wee – no matter how much or how many times
- Frequent need to wee – or sudden urgency.
- Recurring UTI’s – ufinary infections that don’t clear up.
These symptoms could be the sign of something less scary, but its important to get it checked out straight away. Rember early diagnosis saves lives!
